With Jay Nordgaard's departure as Executive Director at Redwood Glen, Marshall Coleman, our Associate
Director, will be providing monthly updates and reflections about the
camp and our ministry. Please keep him and the staff in prayer as
they continue our mission of reflecting Christ by serving others.
Please also keep the Board in prayer as they consider applications for
the new Executive Director. For more info, click here.

Dear
Larry,
Don't
you just love change? No? I do. I always have. I
always think that there is a better way to do something, say something
or prepare for something. And when I find the "better way" I am
content and, then, after awhile I start thinking, "There's gotta be a
better way."
When I
was younger, I worked in an ice cream shop. I was trained on how
to make about 20 different ice cream sundaes. It was a
tremendously busy shop and it struck me how not even one sundae ever
looked like the pictures on the menu. The training I received was
more about expediency and cost control then about customer
perception. My mission became to change the way I made my sundaes
so that every sundae I produced would look just like it's namesake in
the menu, plus I would do it without losing any time in making
it. Once I met this personal challenge I was fine for awhile, and
then I decided that I needed to show others what I knew. I didn't
want to change anything about the ingredients or design a new
sundae. I just wanted our customers to see exactly what we were
telling them to be looking for.
Jesus
Christ came into this world to show and to tell humanity that what was
told them would be happening exactly as they were told it would
happen. Jesus did not come to change anything. He came to
fulfill everything that God, the Father, had promised.
So,
maybe it is not so much a matter of "change", but rather just a better
way.
Redwood
Glen is always looking for a better way to present the gospel. It
happens in our summer camp programs and by providing services and
hospitality that is conducive to what God has for the campers and
guests who come here for the purpose of getting to know Him better.
As we
close out the 2009 calendar year, would you consider partnering with
Redwood Glen financially? Would you prayerfully consider if God
is calling you to make a year-end donation that will assist us in
covering the cost of building His kingdom.
The
staff of Redwood Glen - Carl, Christina, Yessenia, Chino, Jessica,
Peter, Rob, Antonia, Chuy, Chad, Larry, Loma, Ginny and Marshall - wish
you a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS
and a new year filled with His blessings!
In
His Service,
Marshall
